The European Space Agency is inviting industrial players to propose commercially-driven ideas
regarding the Utilisation of Human Spaceflight Technologies. We are looking for ideas from the
following core themes, though, other themes are welcome as well:
Health, Pharmaceuticals, Security, Consumer Applications, Emergency, eLearning,
Successful ideas are leading to new products and sustainable services for public and/or private use,
creating new businesses and commercial opportunities.
This Call for Ideas is specifically welcoming non-space actors who are not familiar with space systems
or have only little knowledge. Industrial players are encouraged to apply as consortium together with
partners from academia and research institutions.
The most promising candidates can consider the use of ESA owned ISS utilization facilities as well as
other facilities operated by ESA commercial partners:
Concordia Research Station, Radiation facilities, ISS, Biolab, KUBIK, European Drawer Reck, European
Physiology Module, European Transportation Carrier, Microgravity Science Glovebox, Sounding rockets,
Parabolic flights, Drop-tower, ESA Large Diameter Centrifuge (Hypergravity), ICE-Cubes, Bartolomeo
